We offer different services to industry, built upon our expertise. These fill a gap that is not covered by private companies. Collaborations with industry can be done in two settings:

  1. Educational programme
  2. Research setting

Educational programme

UAntwerpen offers the opportunity to have a project tackled by first and second master students of Product Development. Our industrial partners are large companies and SMEs but also research centres or start-ups, with a specific expertise in a particular domain, which may or may not integrate all logistical functions (R&D, production, distribution, commercialisation...).For companies, this offers an opportunity to explore, without significant costs, the feasibility of innovation projects or product ideas for which, for example, there is not yet an investment budget. Companies that are less familiar with the practice of product development are introduced to the planned and integrated approach supported by lecturers from different disciplines.

For more information on collaborations in the educational programme, we refer to the dedicated website (Dutch) or Tom Van Houtte.

Research setting

Companies can work with our researchers through the Antwerp Design Factory or the research labs. The Antwerp Design Factory tackles projects in which our expertise and (applied) research are necessary, but academic output is not obligatory. The research labs are more dedicated to longer research and academic output, but may also offer project-based services to industry.
