Jessica has a background in political sciences (bachelor) and urbanism and spatial planning (master). She worked as a spatial planner for for years and joined the research group as a PhD researcher in June 2024. She is the primary researcher of the FACILEX project, in which she researches the spatial, legal and governance implications of energy landscapes in the border region of Flanders and the Netherlands.
Favorite (place in the) city: The Deserto de Viana, near Rabil (Boa Vista)
Despite having already visited many beautiful cities, the endless white sand surface of this desert gives a great humility and has something very meditative about it. The hustle and bustle of the city and everyday life disappears.
