"Flandrica.be is a treasure trove of books, manuscripts and periodicals from heritage libraries in Flanders." It brings fascinating historical documents from Flanders - from the Middle Ages up to the twentieth century - to the screen of your computer. The short introductions to each document guide the user through Flemish history.
As part of the University of Antwerp Library, the Ruusbroec Institute Library participates in this project by adding new items annually.
In 2015 six items from our collections have been added:
- An eighteenth century check list for confession, with many touching drawings
- The first edition of the Dutch translation of Wilhelm Nakatenus's Himmlische Palm-Gärtlein (1683)
- Onze Lieve Vrouwe bij de Vlamingen ('Our Lady visits the Flemish'), apparitions in Onkerzele (1933)
- De Pelgrim (The pilgrim, art movement) inspired by Jan van Ruusbroec (1927)
- De Pelgrim, periodical (1929-1931)
- De Pelgrim: first exhibition (1927)
Please feel free to contact us to make suggestions as to which items from our collections should be added next year.
