The Ruusbroec Institute Library is a recognised heritage library, and holds a number of special collections:

• Approx. 500 manuscripts, including 34 which date from between the twelfth and fifteenth centuries 
• Approx. 1000 reproductions of medieval manuscripts stored on microfilm, microfiche, paper and digital files
• 92 incunabula and 176 post-incunabula
• Approx. 30 000 early printed books
• Approx. 40 000 devotional prints
• Nineteenth and twentieth century primary sources
• Ruusbroec Institute archives
