Incunabula and Post-Incunabula

The Ruusbroec Institute Library has never actively collected incunabula or post-incunabula. Most items in its present collection were offered as permanent loans in 1998 by the Jesuit College of Our Lady in Antwerp.

Among the incunabula in the collection of the Jesuit College of Our Lady lay a hidden treasure: the oldest printed book from Flanders. The Flemish Heritage Library has awarded this book the status of Masterpiece (Topstuk).

An inventory of this incunabula collection was made in 2007 under supervision of Pierre Delsaerdt, and can be consulted on our Dutch website (in Dutch). For a quick overview of our collection, you can also use this list (pdf - 3Mb).

Our incunabula have been catalogued by Polain and are incorporated in the ISTC database.
