About
In vitro gametogenesis, or the creation of gametes in the lab, is a highly innovative and specialized field of study, which is only researched in a small number of laboratories around the world. The artificial reproductive technique of in vitro follicle culture can be seen as a next step to in vitro gametogenesis facilitating the next steps in the creation of competent oocytes.
Invitation
This workshop is organized by Gamete Research Centre, University of Antwerp.
This initiative will bring together specialists working with different species to nurture the development of new ideas and brainstorm on solutions to practical problems.
Specialists from the Gamete Research Centre, core facilities of the University of Antwerp (Antwerp Centre for Advanced Microscopy (ACAM) and Flow cytometry and cell sorting core facility (FACSUA)) and invited speakers Prof. C. De Schauwer (University of Ghent), Prof. E. Anckaert (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) and Prof. E. Telfer (University of Edinburgh) will share their experiences in this field on a theoretical and practical level.
By keeping it a small initiative with a max. of only 20 participants we really want to create and facilitate an informal atmosphere. In an interactive way every participant will be stimulated to learn and ask questions at any level. In a comfortable environment young researchers will have the opportunity to interact with a high-level prominent names in the field of study.
This is a domain-specific training for doctoral and/or postdoctoral researchers and/or ZAP with the aim to deepen their domain-specific and/or methodological knowledge and skills in the context of in vitro gametogenesis.
