Below you will find UAntwerp career support initatives from the Talent Center, Support Young Researchers Grant and Research, Innovation & Valorisation Antwerp (RIVA) to help you steer your (future) career.
Talent Center
The Talent Center of the HR department supports you as a postdoc to develop your (future) career in- or outside academia. They offer both individual career coaching and collective training opportunities, information sessions and activities.
Individual career coaching
You can register for an individual career coaching trajectory in which an experienced career coach helps you to find answers to your career questions. Each trajectory is tailored to fit your individual career question(s) and need(s). Both postdocs with career prospects beyond and in academia are welcome!
You can find more details and information on what to expect, the main principles, the trajectory, the target group and the registration on Pintra (after login).
Collective training opportunities, information sessions and activities
The Talent Center offers:
- A tailor-made training programme in which courses about career development, applying for a job and the development of your (transferable) skills are organised regularly.
- Career sessions that aim to give more insight in a wide range of career opportunities beyond and in academia. The sessions range from open testimonials to more straight forward information sessions about various career paths for PhD holders.
- Mentoring events for those who have the ambition to build an academic career. Would you like to be well informed about the possible steps you can take as a postdoc and get some honest feedback or insights from those who have gone before you? Then the speed mentoring event might be something for you!
Make sure to also check out the Postdoc Community on LinkedIn for tips and tricks on how to manage a career beyond and in academia. On this platform, set up by the Talent Center, you can connect with your fellow postdoctoral researchers and share (career) opportunities.
