Alessia Tomo is a postdoctoral researcher in DigiTax at the University of Antwerp, Faculty of Law. Before joining the DigiTax Centre, she has obtained a joint PhD (cum laude) at the University of Naples Parthenope and Universidad Complutense de Madrid, in September 2022, with a dissertation on artificial intelligence, big data and taxpayers’ data protection. She is engaged with topics concerning the use of new technologies by Tax Administration, and thanks to her strong knowledge of issues related to artificial intelligence and taxpayers’ data protection, she will further focus her research on the legal challenges raised by the new Tax Administration 3.0 model. She is author of many publications in high ranked journals, in this specific topic, and broadly in tax law field.
