My research focuses on studying movement behavior and the underlying mechanisms that help explain the movement behavior of neurological populations and their recovery. This with the goal of improving the rehabilitation capabilities of neurological populations. My research involves mostly persons after stroke and also (although less) persons with Parkinsons Disease. I have experiences with performing gait assessments (Full body kinematics and EMG) and ultrasound. I have used ultrasound to answer research questions concerning shoulder pain in persons after stroke and have tried to use it now in a dynamic way to investigate muscle-tendon behavior of the calf muscle after stroke.
