Maintaining privacy in hostile and complicated ubiquitous computing environments.
Abstract
In the PACE (privacy awareness for complicated environments) project we develop a system that provides feedback related to privacy-intrusive events (such as RFID scans). The system consists of sensing devices, a privacy ontology, a reasoning server and a feedback component. The increased need for feedback on, and logging of, privacy-related events is a direct consequence of the pervasive and hidden nature of many of today's tracking technologies. This nature has put the consumer at a serious disadvantage with respect to control over personal information.Researcher(s)

Provincial organisation for an electronic system of a joint-educative network of european learning.
Abstract
Every town has its 'puppet' theatre. As Paris has the Lyon-based 'Guignol', Antwerp has many of which the 'Poesjenel' is the most important. It has an entry in the major dictionaries of the Dutch language. The basic corollary with European Integration is to teach youngsters by means of a language they understand, today in an efficient way in all educational tiers from primary school to co-operative structures of higher education. So, POESJENEL aims to teach youngsters that Europe is not just an adjective but a noun, which eventually will be their home. The need for eventual scale-efficiency across successive educational tiers is the benchmarking item which warrants long-term survival.Researcher(s)
