About Emma Verhoeven

Emma Verhoeven is a researcher in communication sciences at Ghent University and the University of Antwerp. In 2024, she obtained her PhD with her dissertation "Inclusive Journalism: An Investigation into LGBTI Topics and Homonationalism in the News". She is currently researching the impact of AI on employment in journalism, and journalistic deontology and media councils in Europe. Emma has been an editor at Tijdschrift voor Genderstudies since 2021, and she supervises master theses in the master Gender and Diversity.
