Sociological theories form the core of my scientific interests, with particular attention to the process sociology (figurational sociology) as it was developed by Norbert Elias. 'Deroutinization' through leisure time activities and sport is the most important subject I investigate by making use of this perspective. After I graduated from the University of Leicester (UK) in 2001, I finished my Ph.D. at the University of Antwerp under supervision of Walter Weyns, Gert Verschraegen and Bart Vanreusel.
Currently, my most important activities are publishing books and articles, and supervising students in their research.
