Juliette Masquelier is a historian of contemporary Catholicism, specialising in gender studies. She is particularly interested in the history of women's and feminist movements, the history of the Catholic world and secularisation, and the history of sexuality and reproduction. The question of commitment - religious, social and/or political - is a common thread running through her research. Based on this question, she has extended her interests to the issue of the political involvement of migrant women, and the control exercised over them by the police.
