Expertise
Coordination, development, validation and implementation of molecular assays in the framework of respiratory infections in different European Projects: GRACE (Genomics to combat Resistance against Antibiotics in Community-acquired LRTI in Europe), PREPARE (Platform for European Preparedness Against (Re-) emerging Epidemics), ReCoVER (Rapid European SARS-CoV-2 Emergency Research response). Coordination and development of study-specific laboratory documents (eg Sample collection and processing manual), training of site personnel and biobanking of clinical specimens collected within the studies of the VACCELERATE project (European Corona Vaccine Trial Accelerator Platform).
Maternal immunity around delivery
Abstract
A significant rise in IgG is found in women after delivery in absence of exposure to antigen. Blood volume changes during and after pregnancy are a possible explanation, as well as B cell activity increase (long lived memory B cells) in order to increase the circulating antibodies after delivery. Samples of women at 3 time points will be tested for uric acid (concentration) and cytokines will be measured as surrogate for Th2 activation.Researcher(s)
