Academic activities
Peter Van Humbeeck is a research fellow at Antwerp University, both in the Government & Law Research Unit in the Law Faculty (from 2006) and in the Public Administration & Management Unit in the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences (from 2014).
Previously he was a research fellow at the Center For Applied Law and Economics of Ghent University (2005-2006).
Occasionaly, he acts a a guest lecturer at Antwerp University, Ghent University and Hasselt University and as a dissertation advisor (promotor) to master students, particularly for topics linked to Environmental Economics and Regulatory Management.
His recent academic research activities mainly deal with better regulation, public consultation and impact assessment. Projects he was involved in as an academic researcher resulted in reports, articles and papers on:
- Public administration and good governance
- The theory and practice of regulatory management in Flanders
- The theory and practice of Regulatory Impact Analysis in Flanders
- Data Collection for Cost Estimation in Regulatory Impact Analysis
- Ex post policy evaluation
- Public consultation
- The autonomy, independence and accountability of sectoral regulators
