Expertise

Priscilla Van Even conducts trans- and interdisciplinary research in science communication (combining anthropology, sociology, and philosophy) to support ethical, interactive, and creative practices. This research includes developing evidence-based guidelines for quality assessment of science storytelling; mapping and addressing foundational challenges and barriers in science communication and knowledge translation efforts and exploring meaningful art-science interactions. Her research is often based on participatory, co-creative, and arts-based research methods. Furthermore she has experience in enhancing visual literacy and critical thinking skills in museum settings, biopolitics, responsible science (communication), methodological innovation, the decolonization of knowledge and cultural representation, and (inter)cultural curatorship.
