Preparation and first trial of a (partial) translation of Ruusbroec's treatise The Spiritual Espousals.
Abstract
The translation in Chinese of Ruusbroec's masterpiece, The Spiritual Espousals, is prepared by a thorough study of the very literal English translation under the guidance of experts. Meanwhile the technical concepts of a mystical kind (wesen, innich, ghemeyn, etc.) are noted in their mutual relationship. On the basis of this conceptual apparatus the translation is started, while the apparatus is continuously completed and readjusted.Researcher(s)
