      A GP intervention to improve participation in the Flemish breast cancer screening programme. 01/01/2010 - 31/12/2011

      Abstract

      Developing strategies for improving participation in the official breast cancer screening programme is necessary, since the number of women being screened, currently too low (45%), determines the efficiency of the programme. This project aims to test a strategy for improving participation that is based on the role of the general practitioner (GP) as a motivator to inform and encourage women to attend the screening programme.
