Step 1: Your home institution nominates you before the deadline

To be eligible for an exchange period at our university, it's essential that you are nominated by your home institution. This means that your home institution has a valid bilateral exchange agreement with the University of Antwerp.

If you would like to study at the University of Antwerp as an exchange student, but have not been nominated yet, please contact the international office of your home institution.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from students who have not been officially nominated by their home institution.

Nomination deadlines (for partners)

1st semester and full academic year students:
Partner mailing with nomination instructions will be sent in the 3rd week of February

  • Deadline: 15 April

2nd semester students:
Partner mailing with nomination instructions will be sent in the 3rd week of September

  • Deadline: 15 October

Step 2: Complete your application before the deadline

Once you have been nominated, you will receive an email to create an account and submit your application through Mobility Online, an online tool designed to oversee the mobility file of your exchange.

Follow these steps to complete your application:

  1. Complete the application details and personal details in Mobility Online.

Double-check that all your application details are correct, as this is crucial for your registration at our university. (place of birth, complete and official first name and surname, do not use only capital letters, etc).
Check out our webinar on using Mobility Online.

  2. Look at the course offerings of the faculty for which you have been nominated to compile your learning agreement.

  3. Gather the required documents for your application;

    • Learning agreement
    • Transcript of records
    • Language certificate
    • Passport photo
    • Proof of identification
    • Optional: document listing the facilities you receive in case of a functional impairment

  4. Submit your documents through Mobility Online before the deadline.

  5. The evaluation and acceptance of your application.

After the deadline, we'll review all applications for completeness. If anything's missing or incorrect, we'll email you.
If your application passes this first check, your faculty will review the application and your proposed courses to ensure you meet all academic requirements.
By the end of June (for the 1st semester) or the beginning of December (for the 2nd semester), we plan to finalise this process and inform you of your acceptance.
