Your exchange already starts from the moment you start planning your travel to Antwerp. Antwerp is located in the centre of Belgium and is easily accessible by train, car, bus and plane.

The way you plan your journey can definitely be an added value to the overall experience, so why not make the best out of it?

As a community, we can all contribute to reducing our impact on the climate. You can choose a more sustainable means of transport than air travel to reduce the emissions from your trip. Therefore, we encourage students to travel to Antwerp by bus or train. This way, as a student, you can help reduce your carbon footprint and at the same time get the chance to start your exchange abroad in an adventurous way. Go to Green Erasmus and learn more on how to make the trip an integral part of your mobility experience!

Travelling by bus/train has many advantages

  • Many destinations within Europe are easily accessible by bus/train

  • You go directly from the platform/bus stop to your seat

  • You can take all your luggage with you, without weight and liquid restrictions

  • You enjoy great comfort (often with wifi, power socket, quiet carriages) where you can already fantasise about your experience abroad.

  • You arrive in the city centre

If you do fly:

  • Book a direct flight and avoid stopovers and short-haul flights

  • Compensate CO2 emissions from your flights if necessary

  • Travel light
