1. Knowledge of the properties, side effects, administration modes and dosage of drugs and remedies
1.1 The Master has profound knowledge of the properties of drugs specifically used in hospitals (working and working mechanism, side effects, stability, interactions with food and other drugs,...).
1.2 The Master can evaluate drug use of the individual patient in relation to the pathology.
2. Knowledge of implants and medical aids
2.1 The Master has profound knowledge of materials and their medical application.
2.2 The Master has insight in the refund conditions of the RIZIV.
3. The officinal preparation and pharmaceutical formulation of these drugs
3.1 The Master has the necessary knowledge and skills to prepare drugs magistrally or officinally if needed and to put them in the required mode of administration.
3.2 The Master can make preparations typical for the hospital pharmacy.
3.3 The Master has profound knowledge of the sterilisation principles.
4. The organisation and management of the hospital pharmacy
4.1 The Master is familiar with the financial management of the hospital pharmacy.
4.2 The Master can manage processes in relation to purchasing, stock management and distribution in the hospital pharmacy.
4.3 The Master can follow up on the drugs budget of the hospital (board tables, annual report, pathology-financing) in relation to the care given.
5. The distribution of drugs to the different departments of the hospital. The Master can set up and manage an efficient system to distribute drugs quickly and correctly to the different departments of the hospital.
6. Correct application of legislation in relation to hospital pharmacies
6.1 The Master can apply profound knowledge of pharmaceutical legislation and hospital legislation in relation to the hospital pharmacy.
6.2 The Master can participate in hospital policy in relation to drugs, medical aids and implants and hospital hygiene, more specifically in the Medical Pharmaceutical Committee for Medical Materials.
7. Communication with administration, medical doctors and paramedical staff of the hospital
7.1 The Master can communicate in a critical way with other carers and the hospital administration.
7.2 The Master can give expert advice to medical doctors and to the nursing staff about the properties, modes of administration and dosage of drugs.
8. The use of computer applications in the hospital pharmacy. The master can execute the tarification of the hospital pharmacy.
9. Integral quality assurance in the hospital pharmacy. The Master knows the principles of quality assurance and can apply these.
10. Research
10.1 The Master can independently perform scientific research in a team in relation to hospital pharmacy.
10.2 The Master closely follows new findings of scientific research about drugs and implements this knowledge in their work.
