How to enrol

Micro-credential: Classic and Modern Methods of Epidemiology

Admission and enrolment

Admission requirements

Applicants should hold a university-level Bachelor’s degree. This degree should be of an academic nature, as opposed to a technical or professional degree.

Direct admission:

- Academic Bachelor in Biochemistry and Biotechnology
- Academic Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences
- Academic Bachelor in Veterinary Medicine
- Academic Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Academic Bachelor of Medicine

We cannot accept students with the following degrees, which we consider to be technical or professional:

- Bachelor of Agriculture
- Bachelor of Animal Health
- Bachelor of Biotechnology
- Bachelor of Education of Science
- Bachelor of Laboratory Sciences
- Bachelor of Microbiology
- Bachelor of Midwifery
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Bachelor of Nutrition

If you have an additional Master's degree, you are eligible to apply.

A degree in Medicine, (Biomedical) Sciences or Public Health gives you a good base for attending a course in the Master of Epidemiology. However, if you have another academic background and feel that you would benefit from more knowledge in epidemiology, statistics and research methods to strengthen your research, you might be the right candidate as well.

Students who are still completing their Bachelor’s degree are also encouraged to apply. They have to submit an official letter in English from their university confirming that they are expected to finalise their Bachelor’s studies at the end of the current academic year. They should also submit up-to-date authenticated transcripts with their results of the previous years.

International students who are in need of a visa are advised not to apply, since a 12 ECTS course does not fulfill the requirements for a student visa.

Language proficiency
The programme is taught in English. Candidates are therefore required to demonstrate their English language proficiency.

If your degree was not issued by a recognised educational institution in Belgium or the Netherlands, you will have to provide evidence of your level of English.
You can do this in two ways:

  1. By submitting proof that you have studied at least one academic year (or 60 ECTS credits) in an English-language Bachelor's or Master's programme. The Admission Board may require additional proof of your command of English.
  2. By submitting your results on a language test, with the following minimum scores:
    Paper-based TOEFL: minimum 550
    Internet-based TOEFL: minimum 80
    Computer-based TOEFL: minimum 213
IELTS: minimum overall score of 6.5 and minimum score of 6.0 for each individual component
Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): minimum B2

Results obtained on other language tests will not be accepted.
