Get to know their firsthand experiences

What better way of getting to know your future study destination, than hearing about the experience of students that have paved the way before you? Here are a few of their stories...

After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Social-Economic Sciences at the University of Antwerp, I wanted to broaden my understanding of economics in an international context. I had the opportunity to enrol in the integrated Double Degree programme in economics, offered jointly by the University of Antwerp and Maastricht University.

Broad set of skills

This academic year, I followed the Master in Economic Policy. I highly appreciated its blend of theoretical foundations and empirical analysis. With the broad set of skills I have accumulated, I feel confident about applying for jobs in both the public and private sectors in the future. These skills have not only broadened my career options but also given me the flexibility to pursue roles that truly interest me.

Integrated curriculum

I really valued how the course content was carefully integrated, allowing me to discover connections and apply knowledge across different subjects. This approach made it easier for me to see how theoretical concepts relate to real-world applications.

Open stage for discussion

The professors also value interaction and allow you to integrate the topics from other courses. Their expertise was evident in their engaging teaching style, making the classroom feel like an open stage for discussing topics. I felt encouraged to participate and share my ideas, which made the learning experience even more enriching.

Student life in Antwerp

Though Antwerp might not be widely known internationally, it’s truly a hidden gem. The streets are lined with cozy coffee shops and lively bars, creating the perfect atmosphere for student life.

The city centre combines the comfort of the big city without losing the charm of quiet places, such as the historical Begijnhof and Vlaeykensgang. The campus’s international atmosphere gave me the chance to meet people from all over the world, leading to fascinating new perspectives and unforgettable conversations.
