3. The Master has the insight to place film within the broader contemporary media and the visual culture. The Master is able to analyse film and other images and to differentiate and compare film and other images.
4. The Master can distinguish the important phases (production, distribution, use) of film and other visual sources and is able to analyse the political, social, cultural and economic functions and their integration.

5. The Master is able to use the most important methods and techniques for observation, analysis and argumentation of film studies and visual studies in their own research and is able to write a scientific report on this research.

6. The Master is able to collect and critically process sources and research literature on a specific scientific question about film or visual culture. The Master can formulate a question, analyse the subject and differentiate it from other related subjects.
