Medical expert

1. The Master can describe the relation between employment and health and the determinants of welfare for preventative purposes. In doing so, tthe Master can apply insights from related sciences such as ergonomics, occupational safety, occupational hygiene and psychology.

2. The Master is able to make an inventory of dangers, to measure exposure and to evaluate risks in the working environment (i.e. biological, physical, chemical and psychosocial risks). In this the Master pays particular attention to vulnerable groups.

3. The Master is able to organise and administer first aid and urgent care to employees.

4. The Master pays attention to the impact of diversity characteristics (e.g. language, culture, origin, lifestyle...) on the work environment. The Master recognizes and respects these diversity characteristics and support employees herein.

Manager

5. The Master can inspire and support well-being policy in companies, paying attention to legal, ethical and social aspects. The Master can balance the needs of the individual and the needs of the various business actors (employees, employers, interested third parties).

6. The Master can describe the organisation of employment and company, labour relations and management methods and can assess the impact on internal labour relations and the way in which problems in company health care are approached.

7. The Master can use relevant digital tools and technologies, such as software for risk analysis and data analysis, and can inficate in which situations these digital applications can be supportive.

Health promotor

8. The Master can examine and evaluate health damage and (in)capacity for work of employees at individual and collective level and can formulate proposals to optimize employment chances. In doing so, the Master takes the resilience of the individual and the environment into account.

9. The Master is able to advise on preventative measures and to propose, evaluate and communicate appropriate solutions for health, (in)capacity for work and well-being at work, at individual and group level.

10. The Master knows(recognizes) and evaluates the possible effects of business activities on public health and on the environment and can develop a strategy for prevention and remediation.

11. The Master can actively contribute to health enhancing initiatives, campaigns and training at all levels of an organisation and can formulate health relevant information and recommendations.

Communicator

12. The Master is able to adequately communicate and report on the releation between employment, heath and well-being to employers and employees, other care givers, social partners and inspection.

13. The Master is able to work in a client-oriented way by building a relation of trust with the client, by approaching the client holistically and by formulating recommendations through shared decision-making that are aimed at empowering the client.

Professional

14. The Master can independently make an apply decisions regarding prevention and (in)capacity for work in accordance with the preofessional ,ethical and legal codes. For this, the Master can take final responsibility.

15. The Master can describe the tasks and responsibilities of the workforce doctor and can place these within the relevant (inter)national legal and deontological frameworks.

16. The Master regularly reflects on their competences and emotions and takes action to foster personal growth, including looking for feedback, support and professionalisation initiatives when necessary.

17. The Master develops and attitude of lifelong learning by assessing their own professional competence, by maintaining it through extra training and self study and as such contributes to the development of the domain.

Scientist

18. The Master can describe and apply the objectives, strengths and weaknesses of scientific research methods to occupational medicine and company health care. The Master can effectively research problems from the work domain scientifically, critically analyse them and report on them.

Collaborator

19. The Master can give appropriate referrals in a multidisciplinary context having insight in their own responsibilities and those of other persons, organisations within or outside of the company environment.

20. The Master can collaborate with other carers in a problem-solving way and actively search for possibilities of restarting work and of adapted work for the incapacitated employee.
