Dutch-taught Master of Political Science
1. The Master knows the current state of scientific research in one or more subdisciplines of political sciences as to theory as well as to methodology.
2. The Master knows the main scientific theories, approaches and concepts of political sciences and can apply these to concrete cases.
3. The Master has insight in the national, European and/or international political, social and economic problems and in the political current affairs.
4. The Master has insight in the institutional architecture, the decision making process and the policy of government organisations.
5. The Master has the ability to look in a scientific way at problems in national, European and/or international politics.
6. The Master has the ability to critically and openly look at problems in national, European and/or international politics.
7. The Master can form a socially responsible opinion on problems in national, European and/or international politics.
8. The Master can deal with problems in national, European and/or international politics in a creative and problem solving manner.
9. The Master is able to formulate a problem in national, European and/or international politics, to set up research on it and to choose the appropriate research method (quantitative or qualitative) for it. The Master can convert this into a theory-directed empirical analysis and critically interpret its results.
10. The Master is able to report and to communicate in writing and orally about the analysis of a problem in national, European and/or international politics.
11. The Master is attentive to contemporary political developments and can structure these using scientific insights.
