Prior requirements
Education
Candidates are expected to hold a university-level master's degree in Human or Veterinary Medicine, (Biomedical) Sciences or Public Health, Biostatistics, Social sciences or a related field. The candidate must have completed university-level courses in biology, life sciences, biostatistics or other quantitative studies, research methods or epidemiology
Direct admission to the postgraduate
- Academic master’s degree in Medicine
- Academic master’s degree in Biomedical science
- Academic master’s degree in Biochemistry and biotechnology
- Academic master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine
- Academic master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences
Indirect admission to the postgraduate
- Other academic master’s degree
If you have another academic background and feel that you would benefit from more knowledge in epidemiology, statistics and research methods to strengthen your research or skills in your current job, you might be the right candidate as well.
Language
The programme is taught in English. Candidates are therefore required to demonstrate their English language proficiency.
If your degree was issued by a recognised educational institution in Belgium or the Netherlands, you do not have to provide evidence of your level of English.
You can demonstrate your English language proficiency in two ways:
- By submitting proof that you have studied at least one academic year (or 60 ECTS credits) in an English-language Bachelor's or Master's programme. The Admission Board may require additional proof of your command of English.
- By submitting your results on a language test, with the following minimum scores:
- Paper-based TOEFL: minimum 550
- Internet-based TOEFL: minimum 80
- Computer-based TOEFL: minimum 213
- IELTS: minimum overall score of 6.5 and a minimum score of 6.0 for each individual component
- Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): minimum B2
Results obtained on other language tests will not be accepted.
