Prior education requirements
Access to the Master's programme
Direct access to the Master's programme:
- Holders of an academic Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy
Through a bridging programme
Direct access to the bridging programme:
- Holders of a Graduate in Physiotherapy/Physical Treatment
- Holders of a HBO Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Netherlands)
After permission:
- Holders of other professional Bachelor's degrees in the field of physiotherapy
Through a preparatory programme
After permission, based on file:
- Holders of other academic Bachelor's degrees in the field of physiotherapy
Language proficiency
The programme is taught in English. Candidates are therefore required to demonstrate their English language proficiency.
Students holding a degree that has not been issued by a recognized educational institution in Belgium, the Netherlands or Luxemburg are required to provide evidence of proficiency in English by submitting the results of one of the following language proficiency tests (obtained within the last two years; with the minimum score(s) mentioned):
- TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language; taken at a test center - Home editions are not accepted): a minimum score of 80. You can find more information about TOEFL at www.toefl.org
- IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System; taken at a test center - Online editions are not accepted): a minimum score of at least 6.5, and on each part minimum 6.0. You can find more information about IELTS at Online tests are not acceptedwww.ielts.org
- ITACE (Interuniversity Test of Academic English for Students): minimum level B2. You can find more information about ITACE at www.itace.be/students/about.html
- Cambridge English: minimum B2 First with a score of at least 176. You can find more information about Cambridge English at https://www.cambridgeenglish.org
No other proficiency tests will be accepted, and absolutely no application will be considered without such a test result.
For students who hold a prior degree awarded by an English-speaking university from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom or the United States of America, the certified diploma and transcripts suffice, provided they confirm that the entire university study was completed in English. Absolutely no other diplomas will be accepted as evidence, even if the applicant has followed an exclusively English-taught programme.
