Renewable Energy

Micro-credential

Renewable energy sources are the essential key to mankind's energy future. Learn about this ‘key’ and open the door to the future.

What?

With the current focus of the world and especially the European Union in reducing the carbon dioxide levels, a conversion from a fossil fuels energy system towards a renewable energy system will be important in the next decades.
This micro-credential focuses on this different types of renewable energy systems among them solar and wind energy, the most common ones. Also other types of renewable energy systems like geothermal, hydropower and bio-energy, will be discussed and you will learn about the different aspects of production of all these renewable energy systems.
Besides the focus on the production systems you will also learn about the distribution of energy and look at how the transition in the grid needs to take place.
At the end of the micro-credential you will have gained the necessary knowledge about the different renewable energy sources while maintaining an overview off the challenges arising from transitioning from fossil fuels towards a low carbon society.
