International Course Programmes
International Course Programmes (ICPs) are Master degrees that focus on specific problems of developing countries, lasting one or two years and designed to enable graduates to share and apply acquired knowledge in the home institution and country.
An overview of the eligible programmes at the University of Antwerp:
- Master in Epidemiology: This unique Master's programme in Flanders equips you with the knowledge, skills, and competencies to design and carry out epidemiological research. You'll learn to address critical questions related to the causes, prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of diseases, or the promotion and maintenance of overall health.

- Master in Development Evaluation and Management: This Master’s programme explores how public and private actors shape development processes, with a strong focus on aid policy and institutional analysis, offering methodological and practical insight into development evaluation, its relevance and challenges.

- Master in Globalisation and Development: This Master’s programme critically examines how globalisation impacts development and poverty reduction in low- and middle-income countries, exploring both its opportunities and challenges at local and national levels.

- Master in Governance and Development: This Master’s programme explores the complex links between governance, conflict, and development, equipping students with the theoretical and practical tools to analyse governance challenges at local, national, and global levels.

- Master of Science in Marine and Lacustrine Science and Management (Oceans & Lakes) (In cooperation with Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Universiteit Gent) This 2-year Master's programme is a multidisciplinary programme that prepares science graduates to engage in research and sustainable management of marine and freshwater systems.

How to apply
Steps to apply for a scholarship:
- Check if you are eligible based on all given criteria.
- On the institution’s website, apply for both the programme and the scholarship. When submitting your programme application, make sure to indicate if you are also applying for a scholarship. Do not apply for more than one ICP programme per year.
- What happens next? Each programme has its own application deadlines. After the selection process, VLIRUOS will receive the results from the programme organisers. Selected candidates and those placed on the waiting list will be contacted via email as soon as possible, and no later than mid-June.
