Lecturers
Raman Parimala was born in 1948 in Tamil Nadu (India). She finished her Ph.D. from the University of Mumbai in 1976 under the supervision of Sridharan. For many years, she was a professor at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (Mumbai). In 2005 Parimala was appointed the Asa Griggs Candler Professor of Mathematics at Emory University (Atlanta, Georgia).
Anne Quéguiner-Mathieu obtained her PhD from the Université de Franche-Comté, Besançon, in 1996.
Under the supervision of Eva Bayer-Fluckiger she wrote her doctoral thesis on Invariants d'algèbres à involution. Since 1997 she is Maître de Conférences at Université Paris XIII.
Jean-Pierre Tignol obtained his PhD from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in 1979 with a thesis on Corps à involution de rang fini sur leur centre et de caractéristique différente de 2, under the supervision of Jacques Tits. Shortly afterwards he was appointed as a professor at the UCL. He is one of the four authors of the Book of involutions, for twenty years now the main reference in the area.
Thomas Unger obtained his PhD in 2001 at University College Dublin (UCD). His thesis was about Quadratic Forms and Central Simple Algebras with Involution under the supervision of David Lewis.
In 2003 he became a lecturer and later a senior lecturer at UCD.
Karim Johannes Becher was born in 1973 in Munich (Germany). He received his Ph.D. in 2001 at the University of Besançon (France). His supervisors were Eva Bayer-Fluckiger and Detlev Hoffmann. From 2001 to 2012 he was a postdoctoral researcher at several European universities, in particular at University of Konstanz (Germany). Since 2012 he is a professor at the University of Antwerp.

Andrew Dolphin was born in 1982 in Sunderland (United Kingdom). He completed his PhD in 2008 at the University of Nottingham (United Kingdom) under the supervision of Detlev Hoffmann. He was a post-doctoral assistant at the Universität Konstanz (Germany) from 2008 and later joined the University of Antwerp in 2013.
Nicolas Garrel was born in 1990 in Nice (France). In 2018 he completed his PhD at the Université Paris 13 under the supervision of Anne Quéguiner-Mathieu. He now works as a post-doctoral assistant at the University of Alberta in Edmonton (Canada).
