Your application for the summer school should be submitted before 27 June 2025. Non-EU-citizens are advised to apply before 16 May 2025, because the visa-application can take up 3 months.

Applications are submitted and processed through the enrollment platform Mobility Online. The application for regular students includes a brief CV and cover letter (250 words, detailing the applicant’s background, motivation and interest in the course).

Applications for PhD students include a 500-word cover letter outlining their background, motivation, and research experience related to anger, backlash, or violence in climate activism, along with a 500-word abstract of their current research project. Additionally, they submit an extended CV and a writing sample, working paper, or published article showcasing their specific contribution to the summer school’s theme. Please note that only five PhD students will be selected.

Applications are evaluated by the academic committee and the programme coordinators. Candidates will be notified about the selection outcome on a rolling basis.

In case your application is accepted, you will receive further practical information on payment and visa.  Note that your registration is only complete when the tuition fee is received on the university's bank account.

Accepted participants will be registered as regular students of the University of Antwerp and will hence receive a student account which gives them access to the catering facilities and the Wi-Fi network of the University of Antwerp. Furthermore, accepted participants will be automatically insured for third party liability and accidents during summer or winter school activities. Additional insurances (e.g. health and travel), as well as travel costs are the participant’s own responsibility.
