Images
- We are required to hold the copyrights to all images published on our website.
- All photos from UAntwerpen Beeldbank may be used in our communications, but always check the copyright info for each photo.
Respect copyright agreements
- Never just take images off the Internet and make sure you have the publication rights to an image. Mention the photographer if required.
- Make clear agreements with photographers about publishing their images and mentioning their names. If in doubt, ask beeldbank@uantwerpen.be
- Deleting files and images permanently: Please note: As editor, you cannot permanently delete files and images yourself. If you move a file or image to ‘Trash’, it will still remain in the ‘medialibrary’. So it is still online (even though it is no longer on your webpage). Only E-campus can permanently remove images and files.
- In case of copyright violation, the organizer will be liable for the costs.
Information about photography at UAntwerp or hiring a photographer the university works with can be found on Pintra (after logging in).
Publications
- Only make online publications downloadable if you own the full copyright.
- Links to publications should be created through the academic bibliography's 'handle' link.
Press releases
Many faculties, departments and research units have a 'news' section on their web pages. This is definitely a good idea, but do bear copyright in mind.
- There is no harm in adding links to clips on radio or television websites or to online articles on newspaper or magazine websites.
- It is not permitted, however, to publish PDF files or copies of print media articles. In this case, we are required to pay copyright fees. If you would like to 'purchase' an article in this way, please contact Peter Demeyer.
- There is no problem if articles are only readable after logging in. It is not necessary to pay a copyright fee in this case.
In case of copyright violation, the organizer will be liable for the costs.
