Established in 2021, the Master of Applied Ecohydrology operates across four European universities, situated in Portugal, Poland, Germany, and Belgium. Anchored in a collective dedication to addressing global water challenges, our programme is dedicated to cultivating holistic knowledge in water professionals by integrating ecohydrology, water engineering and integrated water management.

Through scholarships funded by Erasmus+, we extend opportunities to talented individuals from around the world, fostering a diverse and vibrant academic community.

Discover how four international students are prepared to address the intricate challenges of water security and aquatic ecosystem sustainability, now and for generations to come.

I highly recommend the university for anyone seeking top-quality education in an international environment.

"As an Erasmus Mundus student in Applied Ecohydrology, I had the opportunity to spend the third semester of my Master's studies at the University of Antwerp. The University of Antwerp stood out for its high standards of education, which was, although demanding, highly stimulating. As an international student, it's remarkably easy to navigate the university thanks to the widespread proficiency in English and the wide availability of information in English. Beyond academics, the university offers a great and diverse sports program and a very well organised Erasmus association that provides you with plenty of opportunities to meet other international students and enjoy the city.

"My experience at the University of Antwerp during my joint master's program was incredibly enriching."

"As one of 22 international students from diverse backgrounds around the world, we embarked on a unique journey together, studying in multiple European countries before arriving in Belgium. However, it was in Belgium where our bond truly flourished. Living and studying together, we formed a tight-knit community that felt like family.

Finding ourselves in the intense academic environment, we gained valuable insights through collaborations with industry partners, providing us with real-life sectoral perspectives. Engaging with the local community through extracurricular activities supported my social life. Overall, my time in Antwerp was transformative, opening doors to a vibrant city full of opportunities and fostering lasting connections. I'm grateful for the journey."

"My time at the University of Antwerp is another amazing chapter of my master's study in Applied Ecohydrology. It has been transformative and the experience I received was beyond my expectations. Firstly, it must be mentioned the smooth transmission between the partner universities with ahead-planned schedules allowed us plenty of time to adjust to the new environment. The academic environment has been very dynamic, with challenging coursework to real-world applications. We were always given valuable insights during the classes which I highly appreciate. The lecturers were well prepared with the study material and the discussions of the previous lessons, not limited to the subjective material but also real-time issues added extra value to the lectures (I did not want to skip a lesson!).

As an international student, what I liked most about the University of Antwerp was the closeness of the lecturers and the support received from the program coordination team. We were well guided from selecting accommodations to receiving temporary residencies. Amidst these, it should be mentioned the examinations were a very high standard resulting in a greater pressure on us. I come across post-graduate opportunities and get up-to-date information on my field due to the close relationship with the Professors on social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Twitter."

"Overall, I am grateful for the invaluable experiences and lifelong connections forged during my time at the University of Antwerp."
