Vanaf 2020 brengt FSW Connects (Faculteit Sociale Wetenschappen) in samenwerking met ‘Nuff Said vier maal per jaar een gratis Lunch Talk. Tijdens deze Lunch Talks staat een artiest centraal uit de wereld van de comedy, literatuur of muziek. De focus ligt op het persoonlijke en professionele verhaal van de gast, en hoe het zich afspeelt tegen een achtergrond van belangrijke maatschappelijke thema’s en gebeurtenissen zoals migratie, polarisatie en (internationale) conflicten. Kom langs en laat je inspireren door onze onconventionele gastsprekers.

Amir Sulaiman (VS) is verbonden aan Harvard, dichter, scenarioschrijver en producer. Recentelijk was hij schrijver en producer van het tweede seizoen  van de bekroonde serie ‘Ramy’. Op muziekgebied verdiende hij in 2022 een Grammy-nominatie voor Best Spoken Word Album voor zijn samenwerking met Dave Chappelle op hun album ‘8:46’. Onlangs bracht hij ook muziek uit met Robert Glasper; ze speelden hun nummer ‘In Tune’ op ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’.

Between Rakim and Rumi is een programma dat Amir Sulaiman ontwikkelde als onderzoeker aan Harvard University. Het onderzoekt de kunst van hiphop en poëzie als een middel om spiritualiteit te verdiepen en solidariteit in de wereld aan te moedigen.

From 2020, FSW Connects (Faculty of Social Sciences) will bring a free Lunch Talk four times a year in collaboration with 'Nuff Said. During these Lunch Talks, an artist from the world of comedy, literature or music is central. The focus is on the personal and professional story of the guest, and how it takes place against a background of important social themes and events such as migration, polarization and (international) conflicts. Come along and be inspired by our unconventional guest speakers.

Amir Sulaiman (US) is a Harvard Fellow, poet, screenwriter and producer. Most recently, he was a writer and producer on the second season of the award-winning series "Ramy." On the music front, he earned a Grammy nomination for Best Spoken Word Album in 2022 for his collaboration with Dave Chappelle on their album '8:46'. He also recently released music with Robert Glasper; they played their song 'In Tune' on 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon'.
