Evaluatievorm

Je komt terecht in een team bestaande uit de titularis en de vaste praktijkassistenten en je begeleidt studenten die het vak Statistiek II volgen. Je professionele attitude en functioneren binnen het onderwijsteam wordt geëvalueerd door de titularis en de vaste praktijkassistenten, alsook je eventuele collega student-assistenten.

Waarom zouden studenten deelnemen?

Door het opnemen van een student-assistentschap maak je kennis met de andere kant van het onderwijs-gebeuren: door de nauwe interactie met de titularis en de vaste praktijkassistenten word je getraind in het communiceren van complexe inhoud, je leert functioneren in team en je neemt een gedeeltelijke verantwoordelijkheid op voor het begeleiden van jongere studenten. Het opnemen van een student-assistentschap getuigt van competentie, gedrevenheid, alsook zin voor initiatief en verantwoordelijkheid: steevast felbegeerde eigenschappen door selectiecommissies, en dit zowel binnen als buiten de universiteit.

Situering

Your task as a student assistant consists of assisting groups of bachelor students (appr. 10) in close reading sessions of scientific texts. You will be expected to lead these reading sessions by moderating the presentation and discussion of two assigned texts per session. The sessions will take place 5 - 6 times from February till April on Fridays from 1 to 4 pm. 

You will participate in the weekly collective preparation of the sessions, together with the other assistants and professor De Bièvre, for which you yourself also do your preparatory reading, bring your questions, and agree together with the other staff which pedagogical goals we want to achieve that afternoon in the separate sessions.

Je hebt met heel goede studieresultaten behaald voor minstens 2 van de volgende opleidingsonderdelen: ‘Issues in International Relations’ (BA PW), ‘History of International Relations’ (BA PW), ‘The European Union as a Political System’ (MA PS & IBD), ‘European Negotiation Seminar’ (MA PS & IBD) of ‘Theorieën van Internationale Betrekkingen’ (MA IBD).

Evaluatievorm

Prof. Dirk De Bièvre and the faculty assistant Zeger Verleye will hold a final conversation with you at the end of the series of reading sessions. In this conversation, we will evaluate the quality of your preparatory reading, your participation in the preparatory sessions with the other staff, as well as your self-assessment and students’ assessment of your performance.
