This training is a joint initiative of the University of Antwerp (Camelid Immunization Facility) and Lamasté.

  • The morning session will address the theoretical part of the training.
Where do small camelids come from and what are the main aspects of their behavior, physiology and anatomy. How do you take care of optimal nutrition, housing and health management. How can we avoid stress and adequately enrich the habitat. What are the (legal) requirements for registration and disease control. How to apply the 3R principle in animal biotech research.

  • In the afternoon session we will go to the stables and give you an hands-on training. This will address llama housing, normal animal behavior and low stress handling. For practical reasons this session is limited to 20 persons (first come first serve).
