Virology research has a focus on respiratory viral infections such as Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), ranging from fundamental to applied research. The availability of a large repository of clinical respiratory virus isolates is a clear asset. Besides respiratory infections, there is an additional research focus on neuronal viral infections, with collaborative projects with Prof. Ponsaerts (iPSC derived models) and Prof. Ogunjimi (MHC and T-cell receptor).
