The ReViRAnt project is developed by the Respiratory Infections group and collaboration partners. The project generates a repository of live viral isolates of respiratory viruses, derived from pediatric patients. The virus repository panel enables us to investigate different features including the genome sequence; immune response parameters such as mucin, cytokine, and chemokine expression; phenotypic data such as growth characteristics, infectivity on different cell types, and fusogenicity.
ReViRAnt not only offers access to a panel of well-characterized and low-passage viruses, but also to expertise in respiratory infections from a network of experts, both researchers and clinicians. ReViRant thus offers innovation and knowledge beyond the currently available virus repositories. We collaborate with other academic groups for research, but also make our virus isolates available to industry, CROs, and academic partners, either with a straightforward MTA or via collaborative projects in which we also provide our expertise.
