Information for exchange students

A number of courses of the Master programme are taught in English or comprise facilities in English (e.g. slides, handbooks, examinations) to accommodate exchange students.

Admission requirements

Diploma

  • Direct: academic bachelor of medicine (Universiteit Antwerpen)
  • After permission by co-ordinator: academic bachelor of medicine of another Flemish university

If you don't have a bachelor degree of a higher education institution in Belgium, the Netherlands or Luxembourg, you need to follow the admission procedure. More information on this admission procedure 

  • If you already have a medical degree and you want to enrol in our medical programme, then you should request recognition of your foreign diploma
  • If you don’t have a medical degree yet, you should take the entrance examination. 

Entrance examination

To study medicine in Flanders, you must pass and rank favourably in a competitive entrance exam organized by the Ministry of the Flemish Community. All information about this entrance examination is available on www.toelatingsexamenartstandarts.be (only available in Dutch).

Language requirements

This programme is taught in Dutch. Students who wish to enrol for a Dutch master's programme will have to prove their proficiency in Dutch. Without proof of proficiency in Dutch, enrolling for one of our Dutch programmes is not possible. More information on the language requirements
