Directorio Europeo de Mexicanistas
The Center for Mexican Studies (CMS) of the University of Antwerp calls upon all researchers and academics who are based in Europe and are working on any subject related to Mexico, to be part of the European Database of Mexicanistas, Directorio Europeo de Mexicanistas (DEM).
The Directorio Europeo de Mexicanistas will contain records of anyone residing in Europe who conducts research or has an academic project on a subject related to Mexico ("mexicanista"), regardless of their nationality, field of work, or language. This database will be constantly updated and will serve as a reference to universities and other academic and cultural institutions throughout Europe.
The specific goals of the Directorio Europeo de Mexicanistas are:
- Gather contact information of all mexicanistas living in Europe;
- Serve as a reference for academic and cultural institutions around the world;
- Improve communication between academics and researchers specialized in issues related to Mexico and encourage collaboration between them;
- Give greater visibility to the academic, cultural and scientific heritage of Mexico (and to the people working towards this goal)
How does it work?
Every mexicanista living in Europe can fill out the registration form in as much detail as possible. The address of the website that will host the DEM will be published as soon as there are enough records in the database.
The DEM can be consulted using various filters, such as subject, last name, country and keywords. Each record will contain the name, contact details (at least email address) , institutional affiliation, research topics and publications of each mexicanista.
Who can participate?
Any person who works as an academic or researcher on a subject related to Mexico and resides in Europe.
